Daikin Adopts R-32 for Key HVAC Product in North America

We're proud to announce our intent to adopt R-32 as Daikin's low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant of choice for a range of applied, light commercial, and residential products in North America.

Our parent, Daikin Industries, Ltd., has used R-32 globally for many years, having sold millions of R-32 products outside North America. We now look to extend Daikin's leadership position by advancing R-32 products in North America. As refrigerants with higher GWP become restricted, we appreciate the efforts of our team members who have been working diligently to evaluate and deploy R-32 as a balanced, low GWP option for North America.

Daikin has been working with standards, code bodies, and industry associations to provide for the use of next-generation refrigerants with reduced GWP. We anticipate supporting R-410A products while we develop R-32 products as various North American jurisdictions enact appropriate regulations, codes, and standards for low GWP refrigerants.

This is an important initiative to help us deliver superior solutions to our customers, in order to become the number one HVAC solutions leader in North America. We appreciate your continued commitment to that goal.
