Logistics Opens Parts Distribution Center Ahead of Schedule

Logistics Operations began preparations last July to relocate DTTP’s parts operation to the new 450,000 square-foot standalone Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in North Houston to keep pace with the aftermarket parts, supply and accessories growth, and to provide space for production growth at DTTP.

Thanks to some amazing planning, execution and expertise, the move to the PDC was completed on Dec. 3, two weeks ahead of schedule.

"The Parts Distribution Center (PDC) is a state-of-the-art facility that will help Daikin fulfill the continually growing demand of parts and service accessories right now and in the years to come," said Logistics Engineer and PDC project manager David Knight.

More importantly, ongoing shipments to customers and branch locations continued during the transition with minimal interruption.

"Our largest challenge was trying to maintain the continuity of the operations when we were operating out of two buildings at the same time," said David Loveless, Senior Manager, Parts Operation and a project manager on the move. "The reason we were so successful was because it took a total team effort by all to make this work and we were able to get support from start to finish by every work group within Logistics."
