New 13 SEER 2.5-Ton CAPFA and CAUFA 7mm Evaporator Coils

Written by Air Intelligence on Thursday March 19, 2020

We're pleased to announce the launch of 3 additional, new CAPFA cased and CAUFA uncased 7mm evaporator coils for the A-cabinet chassis.

The three additional, new cased and uncased models shown in the chart below are rated at 2.5-ton capacity and up to 13 SEER for vertical applications. All of the new CAPFA and CAUFA coils have been engineered to deliver improved efficiency, in a smaller size, compared to our current CAPF and CAUF models. The new coils maintain their current tube and fin aluminum metallurgy.

For certain matchups, the new coils offer an opportunity to use a reduced height coil to achieve similar ratings, as compared to current CA*F models.

The new CAPFA and CAUFA coils have been engineered with several new, value-added features, as compared to the current CAPF and CAUF models.

  • Reduction of tube size from 3/8" to 7mm provides improved efficiency, in a smaller size
  • New fin design provides enhanced heat transfer efficiency
  • New fin design provides improved hydrophilic performance, providing improved condensate drainage and static pressure reduction
  • Increased thickness of triangular plate improves structural integrity and air seal

The new CAPFA cabinet and drain pan have been engineered with the following improved features, as compared to current CAPF models.

  • Single-piece access panel provides a tighter air seal
  • Flowrator mounted on access panel for easier serviceability
  • Drain pan slope increased for improved condensate drainage
  • Improved drain pan rail design provides increased structural stability and reduction of coil shifting during handling

New model number nomenclature provides additional information. Please note that the introduction of a new alpha digit in the 5th position, which denotes the coil configuration.

All of the new CAPFA and CAUFA coils are currently available for ordering and ratings are available in the AHRI directory. Product specification sheets are available at www.daikincomfort.com.

The new CAPFA and CAUFA coils come with a standard 12-year parts limited warranty. Complete warranty details are available from your local dealer or at www.daikincomfort.com. To receive the 12-year parts limited warranty, online registration must be completed within 60 days of installation. Online registration is not required in California or Quebec.
